In a fight to protect our planet, which economic system works?

On June 12 Bernie Sanders told Americans that we must embrace what he calls “democratic socialism.” One reason he gave was that “democratic socialism” will give us a cleaner, safer environment.

“…we’re talking about the right to a clean environment,” he said. “… [All] over this country, you’ve got people who are turning on their water faucets today and the water that’s coming out is not drinkable. It’s toxic. You’ve got kids in the Bronx and many parts of this country, in urban areas, coming down with absolutely outrageous levels of asthma and other environmentally induced illnesses.”

A number of well-known celebrities, politicians, and other people of influence are putting their names behind ‘democractic socialism’, stating such a system would be better for all of us. Is the capitalistic system the bane of our existence? Let’s chat about it with my guest co-host Dr. Calvin Beisner from the Cornwall Alliance.
